Pairry Chiang

Pairry Chiang is the first meeting designer in Asia, specialising in designing the "energy flow" within meetings. Her core philosophy revolves around the concept of a "rubber duck in the meeting pool, " using a playful approach to break down rigid, habitual thinking and transform serious meetings from tedious routines into spaces for initiating change. With extensive professional experience in the meeting industry, Pairry excels at manipulating various meeting elements to precisely amplify the event's tangible impact.

Q1: For which meeting would you like to design the program?

Forums and conferences with social impact.

Q2: What was your proudest moment as a meeting designer or trainer?

As a designer: Those attending the meeting (whether participants, speakers, or organisers) were pleasantly surprised to discover that meetings could be conducted in this way, and that it was effective, with plenty of laughter and focused attention; as a trainer: If they go back and try it in different situations, and then get very positive feedback.

Q3: What is something most people don’t know about you?

Hm…… I am not comfortable speaking in public.

Q4: Poor meetings are the cause of what, exactly?

The beginning of a vicious cycle: Trying to solve the problem → Poor meeting experience → No problem solved → It's going to happen again. → I don't want to go to meetings. → The meeting experience is even worse. → No problem solved…

Q5: Who is the person you learned the most from?

Darren, my son. Many serious fun ideas come up while playing with him.

Q6: Describe a meeting during which (or after which) you witnessed a profound change.

One participant who had attended Watermelon Camp for the first time enrolled again the following year and shared with us how he applied what he had learned in different situations throughout the year.
